Ebbsfleet United midfielder Ebou Adams feels he's matured this season

Ebou Adams says Ebbsfleet fear no-one after toppling National League leaders Leyton Orient.

Four of the Fleet’s next six matches are against sides above them including the visits of title-chasing Solihull and Salford.

But they’re tackling those tough games as the division’s form team.

Adams said: “It’s a good time to be in form, isn’t it?

“We’re playing really well and we beat the team that’s top of the league so we fancy ourselves against any side.

“Confidence in the group is massive.”

Adams is playing his best football since joining the club last summer. He was used in a holding role earlier this season but now has licence to get forward from central or right midfield.

He said: “As long as I’m playing, I’m happy. The target for me is to get some goals and it’s a good chance, playing further up. Everyone’s gelling together and everyone knows what their job is.

“I know what run Cheeky’s going to make, I know I can play to Kedwell’s feet and playing alongside Drury and Payne has helped me a lot.

“As the season’s gone on, I’ve matured a lot. It’s not just a physical game, it’s a mental game as well.”

Orient dished out some rough treatment to Adams, who played for them on loan last season.

He said: “I don’t know what their tactics were but I did get a few knocks and barges.

“That comes with it. If you’re getting targeted, you know you’re a good player so I thrive off it.

“It’s always good to win a game and even better against your former side.”
