Ebbsfleet United boss Daryl McMahon pleased with his side's performance in the 0-0 draw with Truro City

Daryl McMahon found plenty of positives to take out of Ebbsfleet's goalless draw with Truro.

It finished 0-0 at Stonebridge Road on Saturday as the Fleet drew a blank for the second time in three home games.

But although this was two points dropped by the National League South leaders, their manager was upbeat in his post-match interview.

McMahon said: "I’m not blinded by the result. I think the performance was good.

"Jordan showed great technique in the first half. Keds had a volley and a header as well from a pull-back. Cookie’s had one flash across the goal. Godds got in down the side quite a few times when normally he makes something happen out of that.

"We’ve had numerous little things, Haynesy’s header that was blocked, Haynesy got in down the side in the first half, there were lots of little situations where we did really well.

"It’s a very good performance for me. I’ve been here when we’ve won against Concord and I didn’t enjoy the game because it wasn’t what I was after.

"We might have scored four goals but I thought it was like a game of basketball, end to end, unorganised, it wasn’t what I like.

"Today we were disciplined, strong, some very good football played in there as well and a controlled performance. They didn’t have a shot on target and I thought we totally controlled the game."

Second-placed Maidstone's 2-0 win at Bath cut the Fleet's lead at the top of the table to six points - although they have a game in hand over their Kent rivals.

McMahon said: "It chops and changes all the time, the league table.

"Everyone gets excited about this, that and the other but there’s still a long way to go in this league. I’ve been saying it the whole time.

"The majority (of the performance on Saturday) was good, very controlled. We created a number of chances again, in the first half especially we were very good.

"We had a bit of a spell at the start of the second half when we weren’t so great but the last 15-20 minutes I thought we were good again. We were probably unlucky not to win."
