Herne Bay: E-fit released after two men try to force their way into house in Station Road

Police are hunting two burglars who attempted to force their way into a house.

Officers have released an e-fit of one of the men they hope to speak to after the incident in Station Road, Herne Bay.

It is reported that when the victim opened their front door, they were asked whether the car on the drive belonged to them, before a second man ran towards the house and tried to force his way in by barging the door.

The attempted burglary took place between 5pm and 6.30pm on Monday, April 3.

The men were seen running away in the direction of Herne Bay railway station.

One man, pictured in the e-fit, is described as white, aged between 30 and 40, with short dark blonde hair and wearing a grey hooded top, white vest and light grey tracksuit bottoms.

The other is described as black, in his late 30s, of medium build with short black hair and wearing dark clothing.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Richard Cordery said: "We are concerned about the level of force used by these men when trying to gain access to this house and we believe the suspects may have got into a silver or light coloured 4x4 vehicle and headed towards the train station"
