Detectives have stepped up their investigation into an early morning petrol station raid that saw dozens of scratchcards stolen.

Officers have today released the image of a man who they believe may be able to assist them with their probe into the break-in at the Esso garage in King's Road, Herne Bay.

Following the incident, which took place at about 1am on Boxing Day, it was revealed the burglars would not be able to cash in the winnings from the tickets, as they were later voided by suppliers.

A police spokesman said: "We have issued CCTV images of a man who may be able to assist them.

"The incident is being investigated by officers from the Chief Constable’s crime squad, who would like to hear from anyone who recognises the person in the images."

Those with information are being urged to call officers on 01843 222289, quoting the crime reference number 46/265166/21, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
