Man dies in Herne Bay's Memorial Park

A man has died after collapsing in a town centre park, it has been confirmed.

Police, paramedics and a fire crew descended on Memorial Park in Herne Bay at just after midday today.

The man - who has not yet been named - was pronounced dead at the scene.

An ambulance service spokesman said: "We responded to a medical incident just after midday at the junction of Station Road and Spenser Road.

"We had received a report a person had collapsed.

"Ambulance crews attended the scene but sadly an adult male was pronounced dead at the scene."

He also says crews were at the scene "for a prolonged period" of time.

The man's next of kin have been informed.
