Bouncing Barrel regulars release nude charity calendar

A group of cheeky pub regulars inspired by the Calendar Girls have stripped off to produce their own festive effort.

Eleven customers from the Bouncing Barrel in Herne Bay decided to bare all after a discussion over drinks at the micropub.

Trevor Wicks, whose wife Penny is the landlady, admitted several of those who volunteered were nervous before they were photographed.

Those posing in the calendar ranged from being in their 20s to their mid 70s.

“I wasn’t apprehensive in the days leading up to the shoot, but certainly a couple of hours before,” he said.

“We posed nude in various places around the pub when it was closed, but it was all done in the best possible taste.”

The pictures were taken and printed by another of the Bouncing Barrel’s regulars, David Lee, who works as a wedding photographer.

Those posing in the calendar were aged from their 20s to their mid-70s.

One of them was photographed posing on his mobility scooter, but he was afforded the privilege of keeping his boxer shorts on.

The group hopes to raise more than £1,100 for the League of The Friends of Queen Victoria Memorial Hospital through sales of the calendar.

“We’ve sold about 100 so far,” said Mr Wicks.

“They’re going for £10 each.

"Taking the cost of the printing into account, we’ve raised about £700 for the charity.”

Having printed 150 calendars altogether, the pub is aiming to raise a further £400 from the remaining sales.
