Air ambulance lands after man involved in collision with bus in Hythe

A man is recovering in hospital after being hit by a bus.

Emergency services including police and ambulance were called to Red Lion Square in Hythe at around 12.40pm yesterday following a report of a collision with a pedestrian and a bus.

The air ambulance was also called to the scene, and landed on nearby The Green.

The man was taken to a London hospital with arm injuries.

A spokesman for the ambulance said: "I can confirm that we were called to reports a pedestrian had been hit by a bus in Red Lion Square at approximately 12.40pm on Sunday (23 May).

"Ambulance crews attended and were joined at the scene by the air ambulance service. The pedestrian was assessed and treated at the scene before being airlifted to Kings College Hospital with potentially serious injuries."
