A tourist attraction based on Geoffery Chaucer’s epic poem about a pilgrimage to Kent has undergone a £20,000 overhaul.
The Canterbury Tales in St Margaret’s Street has been given new sets put together by Sandwich-based specialist designers Evolution Productions.
Live costumed characters will offer lengthier tours and there is also better access for wheelchair users.
Lord Mayor of Canterbury Cllr Ann Taylor was among the VIPs who the visited the refurbished centre on this week.
General manager Lyndsay Ridley said: “Medieval minstrels and a jester entertained our guests in the courtyard before they rediscovered the Tales by taking a tour with our costumed characters.
"We are thrilled with the refurbishment.”
