Aldi hiring 400 jobs for Sheppey distribution centre

A supermarket giant is recruiting hundreds of new staff as it prepares to open a new £50 million distribution centre.

Aldi is opening the facility next to Neats Court in Queenborough next year.

In total, around 400 roles will be created.

As well as commercial staff, warehouse and logistics jobs will be up for grabs, with the recruitment for many roles already under way.

Senior positions will also be available including warehouse and quality section leaders.

According to recruitment agency Baxter Personnel, which has been hired to conduct the recruitment process, a "high percentage" of the roles will be permanent.

Baxter Personnel is no stranger to the supermarket.

It works with Aldi on its stores and commercial campaigns up and down the UK and has previously staffed its regional distribution centres in Cardiff and South Yorkshire.

Senior account manager Jo Stickler will oversee the influx of roles.

She said: “This really is an exciting opportunity for all involved, including the people of Kent.”

Commercial positions will be recruited in the first half of 2018, allowing up to 12 months to train staff prior to the centre's official opening in 2019.

Work started on the site in April 2015.
