American Golf takes over shop at Gravesend Golf Centre

A golf retailer has invested £115,000 to kit out a store at a driving range and taken on seven staff.

American Golf now runs the shop at the Gravesend Golf Centre near Cascades Leisure Centre.

The investment includes the latest Flightscope club-fitting technology, matching players with the right club for their height and swing.

The centre already boasts a 30-bay driving range with 15 automatic tees, a chipping and putting area and an academy course for beginners or experienced golfers.

New store manager Dan Fairbrass said: “Gravesend Golf Centre is a fantastic venue for us to help local golfers get the best out of their game.

“The team we’ve put together is full of enthusiasm and the facilities at the new venue are first rate.

“The site boasts all the latest equipment, fantastic practice facilities and Flightscope club fitting technology, so we are able to accommodate any level of golfer.

“All of this combined means that the future for the golfers of Gravesend is very bright.”

American Golf will pay a retainer to Gravesend Golf Centre’s owners to operate the shop.

Director of marketing and communications Daniel Gathercole said: “A venue like Gravesend Golf Centre is well respected in the area, in a great location and gives us a chance to be at the heart of a golfing community.

“We’re delighted to make the investment into the venue and the people of the Gravesend area and can only see great things for the future development at the club.”
