EU Referendum: In or out

Two polls conducted by Kent Business showed bosses at the county’s two largest business shows support the campaign to remain in the EU.

The ballots found that 58% of 114 people favoured staying in the single market.

There were 36 votes to stay and 27 to leave from a survey held at the KM Group stand at the Kent Vision Live event at the Kent Showground in Detling last month.

A similar count at Kent B2B at Ashford International Hotel in April found 30 remainers, compared to 21 leavers.

A separate poll carried out by accountancy Crowe Clark Whitehill at West Kent B2B and Kent B2B found 67% of 85 respondents believed their business would benefit from remaining in the EU.

Simon Crookston, tax partner at the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells-based business, said: “Many respondents wanted more honest facts from reliable sources to allow them to make an informed decision.”
