Shooting World Championships gold medalist Sarah Gray from Woodchurch joins Ainsworth Civils and Engineering in Maidstone

A civil engineering company is aiming to gets its accounts to hit its targets after hiring a skeet shooting gold medalist.

Ainsworth Civils and Engineering has taken on Sarah Gray as a finance assistant, two months after she won team gold at the Shooting World Championships in Granada, Spain

The 27-year-old from Woodchurch, near Tenterden, will work four days a week at the firm, based in Sutton Valence, near Maidstone.

She hopes to represent Team GB at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

AC&E celebrated its 10th anniversary this year and is working on projects like Crossrail Rail Abbey Wood and a pumping station on the Isle of Grain.

Previous work has included improvements at Teston Lock and construction of the Rushenden relief road bridge, for which they won the International Safety Award and the Transport Award.

Finance director Sinead Ainsworth said: “As the company grows the requirement to recruit new staff increases.

“The appointment of Sarah as finance assistant has been a great asset to our team, her natural on target accuracy has already proved to be invaluable.”
