Construction recruitment firm the Shore Group expands into new base in Lordswood, Chatham

A £65 million construction recruitment business is expanding into new offices in Kent.

The Shore Group, which placed more than 15,000 temporary vacancies across the UK last year, is moving into a new base at Lordswood, Chatham.

The firm, which employs 50 staff, aims to surpass £100 million in turnover in two years.
It was founded by Frank Ashbee in 2008 with business partners James Hobden and Lewis Yorke-Johnson.

The business – which has bases in Sussex, London, Australia and Dubai – is expanding its operation in Kent this year to capitalise on job the ability to move workers to London and Europe.

Mr Ashbee said: “Starting the Shore Group in 2008 seemed the perfect moment for a new recruitment agency – that was before the worst recession the world has ever seen.

“We weathered the storm and recovered so now, we are excited with what we think we can achieve this year and passionately believe that to get the best out of people they must enjoy the process of coming to work.”
