Princess Royal approves Kent firms at London Boat Show, including Elite Sailing, Icom UK and Topper International

Three marine companies shook hands with Princess Anne when she visited the London Boat Show.

The Princess Royal met Elite Sailing from Chatham, Icom UK from Herne Bay and Topper International from Ashford during her visit to the ExCeL London.

The event, held throughout last week, shows off the latest technology in the marine industry.

Bob Stockley, managing director of Icom UK, said: “We are proud and honoured that HRH The Princess Royal took time to visit us and showed interested in our new models, particularly our new WiFi digital radios.”

David Allan, principle at Elite Sailing said: “We are privileged that she takes time out to explore the British marine industry.

"We will remember this as an important time at the show.”

Topper International’s senior sales manager Jon Manners added: “Princess Anne was very knowledgeable and interested.

"She remembered that we launched our Topper Topaz Argo last year and wanted to know how it had been received and what new models were in the pipeline.”
