IS IT a bird, is it a plane? No, it's a thrill-seeking base jumper.

The 98ft jump took place on the coastbound side of the M2 motorway bridge at Rochester on Wednesday afternoon. It lasted seconds and the dare-devil was unharmed.

The man, who has asked to remain anonymous, said: "What a thrill. That was absolutely amazing. It was a bit scary but you have to trust in your kit and hope it all goes well."

Base jumping involves using a parachute to jump from buildings, bridges or natural features. Although not illegal in the UK, base jumpers are often prosecuted for a number of offences such as public disorder or trespassing.
