Medway's Billy Childish has pulled out of the Lounge on the Farm music festival, being at Canterbury between July 11 and 13.

The festival's website says Childish will not be appearing for "personal reasons," but it is understood multi-talented singer, guitarist, poet and painter is ill.

The festival line-up includes international glam-punk stars the New York Dolls and top acts The Coral and The Bees.

There are six stages and 160 acts in all. As well as music, there will be circus and dance workshops and a solar-powered cinema.

All the acts were hand-picked by Matt Gough, originally from Rochester, along with his friend Sean Baker.
