Blue van clue after theft of garage cash machine?

POLICE are investigating the theft of a cash machine from a BP garage. The incident happened in Rye Road, Hawkhurst, early on Thursday.

A member of the public alerted police to a disturbance at the garage at about 4.20am.

A police spokesman said: "When officers arrived they discovered the free standing cash machine within the garage had been taken. A blue van was seen in the area."

Det Sgt Andrew Nash, who is heading the investigation, said: "We are grateful to the member of public for alerting us so quickly and would like to hear from anyone else who may have seen or heard anything."
