Brian Fraser, 63, accused of attempted murder over Benenden shooting

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was shot while she tended to her horses.

Brian Fraser, from Shadoxhurst, was bailed when he appeared at Maidstone Magistrates' Court yesterday.

The 63-year-old has also been charged with possession of a shotgun without a certificate.

It comes after a woman from Benenden was shot in the leg on Thursday, March 15.

The 50-year-old was feeding her horses in Cranbrook Road when someone opened fire while hiding in a hedge.
