A memorial to a town's war dead has been destroyed after a car crashed into it.

The landmark in Kingswood Road, Bromley, was badly damaged after the silver vehicle appeared to crash and land with its back wheels on top of it.

The cross with an inscription on it was knocked off its base, which is surrounded by poppy wreaths.
