Major disruption on Southeastern services for planned engineering work

Disruption to train travel is expected this weekend in the county, due to planned engineering works.

On Sunday, there are no Southeastern services and to and from London Charring Cross and London Waterloo and East, resulting in diversions and some cancelled stops.

It comes after the past two weekends have seen no trains running to and from London Victoria.

As a result of engineering work between Charing Cross and London Bridge on Sunday, journeys along the Hastings, Paddock Wood, Grove Park, Sidcup and Haynes lines will be affected.

Services on the Paddock Wood Line between London Charing Cross and Ramsgate and Dover Priory via Tonbridge will run hourly and be diverted to run to and from London Cannon Street. These trains will be diverted via Maidstone East and a portion of coaches will be detached at Ashford International to run to and from Dover Priory. Additional trains will run between London Cannon Street and Tonbridge.

On the Hastings Line, trains between London Charing Cross and Hastings will be run to and from Cannon Street.

Services on the Grove Park Line between London Charing Cross and Sevenoaks via Grove Park will run from London Cannon Street.

Sidcup Line trains which usually run between London Charing Cross and Dartford via Sidcup will run from London Cannon Street and call additionally at Albany Park. Services between London Charing Cross and Gravesend via Sidcup will not run.

Trains on the Hayes Line between London Charing Cross and Hayes will run from London Cannon Street.

There will also be no services via Sittingbourne Thames link between Kentish Town, Dartford and Rainham because of work between Rainham and Faversham.

This means that on the Sole Street Line, trains between London Victoria and Ramsgate and Dover Priory via Chatham will only run between London Victoria and Gillingham.

High Speed services via Gravesend running between London St Pancras International and Ramsgate via Faversham will only run between London St Pancras International and Gillingham.

And on the Sheerness Line trains between Sittingbourne and Sheerness-on-Sea will not run.

In response, additional services will run to and from Faversham and Ramsgate as well as Faversham and Dover Priory.

Buses will also be in operation replacing the trains which have been cancelled for the works.

Engineering work in Paddock Wood also means there will be no services between London Cannon Street and Ramsgate / Dover Priory via Tonbridge; and also between Paddock Wood and Strood.

On the Paddock Wood Line, trains between London Cannon Street and Ramsgate and Dover Priory via Tonbridge will run hourly, and be diverted between London Bridge and Ashford International to run via Maidstone East calling additionally at Otford (for connections to/from Sevenoaks) and Maidstone East.

A portion of coaches will be detached at Ashford International to run between Ashford International and Dover Priory. These trains will run from London Cannon Street because of further engineering work at London Charing Cross.

Trains on the Medway Valley Line between Paddock Wood and Strood will only run between Maidstone West and Strood.

Additional trains will run between London Cannon Street and Tonbridge, with replacement buses.
