A reckless driver has been pulled over after being caught hurtling down the motorway at 130mph.

Police in unmarked vehicles clocked the motorist travelling at almost double the speed limit on the M20 between Maidstone and Ashford today.

The Kent Police roads unit tweeted a photo of the Ferrari logo with the caption: "Driver stopped by unmarked vehicles on M20. Driver reported for excess speed 130 MPH in a 70."

A police spokesman said: "Police officers stopped a car travelling in excess of 130mph on the coastbound carriageway of the M20 between junctions 8 and 9.

"The driver was reported for summons."
