An elderly man has died after his car crashed with another being driven by a teenager.

The 81-year-old suffered fatal injuries in Ivychurch, Romney Marsh, yesterday.

His blue Nissan Micra collided with a silver Mazda at about 4.10pm on the A2070, between Hamstreet and Brenzett.

The driver of the Mazda, a 19-year-old man, was taken to the William Harvey Hospital for treatment to injuries described as serious.

His passenger, a 20-year-old man, suffered injuries believed to be minor.

Kent Police are appealing for information and are keen to speak to the driver of a van who is thought to have stopped at the scene and called the emergency services.

Phone the Serious Collision Investigation Unit witness appeal line on 01622 798538.
