Former employee charged with cafe arson

A former employee of of Mickey’s Diner has been accused of setting fire to the cafe on the A2 at Upper Harbledown.

The business was gutted in a fierce blaze in the early hours of July 29 and a 23-year-old Faversham man has now been charged with arson.

Daniel Burton of Buttermere, Faversham, is also accused of theft from his employer. He has been bailed to appear at Canterbury Magistrates Court on October 17.
