Kent set for unseasonal warm temperatures

Spring has sprung - and Kent is set to heat up this week.

The thermometer is predicted to hit the low 20s tomorrow, with sunny spells across the region.

The average temperature for March in Kent is a miserly 7C, so tomorrow's 20C prediction will come as a pleasant taste of summer.

A Met Office spokesman said for Thursday: "A dry day is likely with some bright or sunny spells developing across some parts, once early morning rain or showers have cleared."

But it's got a fair way to go to compete with the highest ever March UK temperature.

That glory goes to Aboyne in Scotland, which recorded a temperature of 23.6 °C (74.5 °F) on March 27 2012, the highest March temperature in Scotland since records began.
