Gillingham have been drawn against another League 1 side in this season's FA Cup.

The Gills were the first tie out of the hat on Sunday afternoon when they were handed a trip to Preston North End in the second round.

The two sides have never met each other in the FA Cup previously. Their last meeting was in the Championship more than seven years ago when they drew 1-1 at Deepdale, with Paul Smith scoring a last-minute equaliser for a Gills team that featured the likes of Ian Cox, Mamady Sidibe and Darius Henderson.

Preston reached this stage after a 3-0 win over 10-man Yeovil on Saturday courtesy of goals from Joel Byrom, David Amoo and Chris Robertson.

The tie is due to be played on Saturday, December 1.
