SADLY MISSED: Hazel Griffin

A YOUNG woman killed in a hit-and-run road tragedy has been described by friends as bubbly and beautiful.

Hazel Griffin, 22, of Kingswood Avenue, Swanley, near Dartford, died after a night out with work colleagues in Sidcup.

One of her friends, Hayley Morris, 25, said: “She was a spontaneous person. If we went to the pub together and a good song came on at the karaoke, Hazel would be up and dancing on the table.”

Hazel lived with her parents, Julie and David, and her twin sister Rose, and had been dating her boyfriend for eight months.

The enthusiastic dancer, who belonged to a Swanley drama group, had worked at JIB nsions Scheme in Sidcup as an administrative clerk.

She was returning from a monthly night out with work colleagues to a restaurant and cinema on March 15 when the van struck her and then sped away.

Mike Hayes, chief executive of PBI, said: “Hazel was a much-valued and very popular member of staff and will be sadly missed.”

A 29-year-old South London man has been arrested and released on bail pending further inquiries until April 19.

Police still need witnesses to the incident. Anyone with information is asked to ring the Collision Investigation Unit on 020 8285 1574.
