Hotel suicide man left notes for family

A DEPRESSED father took a cocktail of drugs and suffocated himself by putting a bin bag over his head, an inquest was told.

Mark Sylvester, 30, of Darnley Road, Strood, was found by police lying on a bed in the Travelodge on the M2 motorway in Gillingham on April 3 this year.

The inquest in Gillingham heard how he left notes to several members of his family telling them of his problems. He had taken cocaine and methadone before falling asleep.

Deputy coroner Stephen Beck gave the cause of death as suffocation and recorded a verdict of suicide.
