Where to see the steam train following the route of the Golden Arrow as it travels through Kent today

Steam train fans will be able to catch a glimpse of a locomotive as it works its way through Kent today – following the route of the legendary Golden Arrow boat train.

The service – which has already sold out for passengers – will leave London before heading past Ashford and into Canterbury where those travelling will be able to disembark for three hours.

It will then head towards Folkestone and Dover before heading back to London via Tonbridge.

The steam engine is expected to be a 34046 Braunton.

If you want to try and spot it as it travels through the county, it is expected to pass through Bromley South at 11.39am, Maidstone East at 12.19, Ashford International 1.19pm and Canterbury West at 1.36pm.

On its return, it will leave the cathedral city at 3.55pm, pass Sandwich at 4.32, Dover Priory at 4.52, Headcorn at 5.36 and Paddock Wood at 6.03pm.
