Babyshambles star Pete Doherty failed to show for a gig at the Tap n Tin pub in Chatham.

The ex-Libertines front man had been due to support Cockney duo Chas and Dave on Saturday night but left hundreds of fans who had paid the £30 ticket price disappointed.

It is thought Doherty had set off for the venue in Railway Street but was forced to turn round and go home because of ill health.

He also failed to pick up his family’s gifts as his sister, brother-in-law and uncle had all taken presents for him to the show.

The show took place on Saturday with another act filling in as support and Chas and Dave playing a full set.
