Make the most of the Easter weekend, with egg-chasing games and bunny-seeking trails across the county

Biddenden Vineyards

While adults answer questions on celebrities to win a bottle of cider or apple juice, children will explore the vineyard, chasing clues for a chocolate reward. The vineyard will also be open throughout the Easter weekend, with free admission and tastings. The shop also has a new local cheese counter.

Bluewater

Go in search around the shopping centre for items which have been turned blue by Blabbit, Bluewater’s big blue Easter bunny. Families should meet Blabbit in the Plaza, where they will receive a treasure map with the big blue adventure. Anyone who finds all the items will be given the chance to win a family trip to Disney World, Orlando.

Buckmore Park, Chatham

The whole family can get behind the wheel of a go kart at the circuit for the Turn Up 'n’ Drive Day. Anyone aged four and above can take part, with sessions divided into age groups. Mums and dads can race on the 600m national circuit. High speed passenger rides at 40mph are available in twin seat karts.

Go on the Cadbury Easter Egg Trail around the former home of Sir Winston Churchill, with face painting and games for children. Then head to the re-designed exhibition room and see items belonging to Churchill which had never been on public display until this year.

Make bunny masks, Easter chicks and decorate eggs at workshops. Children can have their face painted and the Easter bunny will be paying a visit, handing out free chocolates.

Dover Castle

At the Children’s Festival, youngsters can discover the skills and tricks-of-the-trade of characters from the past. Take part in children’s plays, learn circus skills, jesting and have a go at junior jousting.

Bob the Builder is the star attraction at the new Events Arena with his Never Mind The Breezeblocks Live show. Families can get close to quirky and unusual creatures at Weird & Wonderful Animal Encounters. They can also meet some scaly species at the Reptile Show in the Discovery Centre.

Explore the nooks and crannies of the Edwardian hillside estate on a Cadbury Easter Egg Trail. Families can wander through the delicate white-petalled anemones in the woods or see the exotic magnolias in dusky bloom.

Make Easter-themed crafts to take home and see Mrs Back to Front in the early part of the weekend before the Easter hunt which will have children scouring the farm. There will also be an Easter bonnet competition. Later in the week, children dressed as princesses and pirates get free entry and there is a have a go falconry day.

Open: Easter crafts on Good Friday, Mrs Back to Front visits Saturday, April 7, the Easter hunt is on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, the Easter bonnet competition is on Easter Monday afternoon, while princesses and pirates is on Thursday, April 12. The falconry day is Friday, April 13.

Hever Castle

With the help of Henrietta the Hen, go in search for clues at the annual Easter egg hunt and claim the chocolate prize. A brood of hens and their chicks will be on site with their owners talking about the different breeds. Those with an interest in keeping hens can find out how to set up a chicken coop at home and start collecting freshly laid eggs each morning. Traditional brass bands will play throughout the weekend. Later in the week, there will be brass rubbing workshops, with brasses including Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn.

Hop Farm, near Paddock Wood

Meet the spring animals such as lambs, bunnies and fluffy chicks in the Animal Farm. Children can take on the Easter egg hunt before enjoying sing-a-longs, puppet shows and farmyard party dances. The regular attractions are ideal for under 11s, such as the Giant Jumping Pillows, the Magic Factory, Children’s Driving Shool and Pirate Cove.

Children can follow a trail through the grounds to collect an Easter egg from the Bunny Burrow. kmfm’s The Saturday Show will broadcast live from the castle and families will be able to meet the fluffy bunnies and friendly alpacas. There will be Easter egg archery and face painting.

Maidstone Leisure Centre

The seaside is coming to the county town with wave raves, beach parties and pirate-themed activities running until Friday, April 13. Families can meet Olli the Octopus before tackling the flume ride and wave rave lagoon sessions featuring music by a DJ and fun inflatables. There will also be a Punch and Judy, Mr Muddles Magic Show and a pirate-themed week running from Easter Monday.

The Pantiles, Tunbridge Wells

There’s an Easter egg trail every day over the long weekend, with a chocolate reward for everyone who completes the challenge. There is also a free colouring competition and a bouncy castle.

The old man of the woods and his companion will tell children tales of Easter. Visitors can try their hand at egg rolling and there will be an egg and spoon race. Craft activities run throughout the holidays.

Sissinghurst Castle

Games and face painting add to the Cadbury Easter egg trail as the grounds become awash with cream, pink and lilac colour from magnolias, clematis and tulips. There are also thousands of jewel-coloured crocuses littering the orchard and Spring Walk.
