Kent are back in action in the Twenty20 Cup later today - hoping to beat Middlesex for the second time in three days.

The Spitfires beat the Panthers by 62 runs at Lord’s on Wednesday and could go top of their group table with another victory at the St Lawrence ground tonight in what is also a re-run of last year’s competition final.

The club are hoping to attract a big crowd to the Friday evening event, and are promising a free ticket for the second day of the LV County Championship match against Derbyshire on August 1.

Kent’s director of business development, Jamie Clifford said: “'The purpose of the promotion is twofold: Firstly, it is good to say thank you to our continued loyal supporters and, secondly, we are all really keen to encourage supporters to come to all forms of the game.

“Of course, the Twenty20 Cup was created by ECB with this in mind. My hope is, that when Championship cricket returns to Canterbury at the end of July, we will see some new faces at The St Lawrence Ground.”

Middlesex beat Kent by three runs in the final of last year’s competition at the Rose Bowl.
