Kent are set to announce record profits when they reveal their annual figures next month.

The figure is expected to run into millions and is the result of selling two pieces of land at the St Lawrence Ground to housing developers Bellway Homes, part of the long overdue redevelopment programme which is now under construction.

However, the news will be tempered by another substantial operating loss, with the county citing the downturn in the economy and the impact of the football World Cup in South Africa last summer.

It will be the third successive year that Kent have reported a six-figure operating loss.

The 2010 annual report and accounts will be with members earlier than usual, ahead of the annual meeting in March.
