Two lanes of the A2 near Dartford have reopened after a rush hour smash.

A fiat punto and recovery vehicle collided at about 8.15am on the M25 slip road onto the A2 coastbound carriageway near Bean.

An 11-year-old boy suffering from back pain was taken to Darent Valley Hospital on a spinal board.

One Dartford fire crew and one crew from Thames-side station went to the scene.

Fire fighters used hydraulic lifting equipment to provide easier access to the woman driver and boy in the car.

The lanes reopened at 9.50am.

Earlier this morning there was also a queue of traffic heading towards London on the A2, near the Gravesend junctions.
