Lorry fire causes delays at Key Street, Sittingbourne

Two truck fires have been causing delays this morning.

A chipper truck caught fire at just after 8.30am on the slip road approaching the Key Street roundabout from section 3 of the A249 in Sittingbourne.

Two fire engines and police are still attending, and traffic is building up.

Meanwhile, on the M20, the coastbound exit slip road is closed due to a meat lorry catching fire at J4 for the A228 (Leybourne / Snodland).

The slip road was closed at 6.15am for the vehicle's load of meat to be transferred to another vehicle.

And, in a separate crash, drivers experienced delays after a minor crash between two cars on the westbound carriageway of the M20 at junction 5.

Both cars were removed to the hard shoulder after the collison just before 9am, but the Highways Agency reported heavy congestion.
