M20 traffic from junction 5 for Aylesford to junction 6 for A229 Maidstone and Blue Bell Hill

A lorry shed its load on a slip road leading to the M20 near Maidstone causing delays.

It happened on the coastbound entry slip road at junction 6 for the A229 Maidstone and Blue Bell Hill.

Police were called after a lorry shed a large quantity of stones on the road.

Delays were expected until about 6pm while the debris was cleared.

Congestion was back to junction 5 for Aylesford.

A police spokesman said: "Officers were called at 3.16pm after a HGV shed a large quantity of stones on the M20 feeder road between junctions 6 and 7 coastbound.

"The feeder road has been closed in order for the debris to be removed."
