Man killed in M2 crash horror

A man died after being thrown from his car in a motorway smash.

The 55-year-old victim, from Chatham, was killed after he lost control of his car on the M2 and crashed into a boundary fence.

The tragedy happened at about 2.30pm on Saturday on the London-bound carriageway between the Junctions 4 and 5, the Gillingham and Sittingbourne turn-offs.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “It appears the driver lost control, swerved off the motorway and into a boundary fence. He was thrown from the vehicle and died from his injuries.”

The passenger, a 41-year-old man, was taken to hospital but later released.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone who can help is asked to contact the serious collision investigation unit on 01622 798538.
