A man is to be charged with death by dangerous driving after a young woman was tragically killed in a three-vehicle crash.

Rebekah Alderson, 24, died at the scene of the smash - on the A2070 between Ashford and Hamstreet - on Good Friday.

Now a 53-year-old man, from Essex, has been summonsed to court on a charge of causing her death by dangerous driving.

He will not be named until he appears before Folkestone magistrates on Tuesday, November 6.

Rebekah, from Littlestone, near New Romney, died after the Ford Ka she was driving caught fire in the crash at about 11.40pm on Friday, April 6.

The crash also involved a dark blue Peugeot Partner van and a blue BMW 5 series.

Rebekah was described by those who knew her as a "beautiful, loving, compassionate woman" who was loved so much.

In an emotional outpouring of grief, her brother - known only as Jase - said: "She was meant to be there with me to watch our parents grow old, as an auntie to my children, someone to share memories with until we both grew old ourselves and all of this has been robbed from us both."
