A motorist suffered life-threatening injuries in a serious accident in the county on Friday.

The crash happened at around 3.15am at the A20 Swanley interchange going onto the M25 junction 3.

The area between junction 3 for the M25 and the A223 Cray Road, around Crittals Corner, was closed.

The road was shut for several hours after the incident while emergency services attended the scene and debris was cleared from the carriageway, causing huge traffic problems.

It was reopened shortly after noon.
