A SECTION of the M20 has been closed following an accident on the London-bound carriageway.

The crash, which involved one car, happened at junction 8 (Leeds Castle) at around 4.10pm.

Three people were hurt, although police say the injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. One person was taken to hospital by air ambulance.

The car was blocking two lanes and spilt fuel across all three lanes on the London-bound carriageway. That side of the road is closed.

The coast-bound carriageway was closed temporarily to allow the air ambulance to land.
