West Kingsdown mum is latest kmfm Thousand Pound Friday winner

There were tears of joy as a West Kingsdown mum was told she had won a £1,000 cash prize.

Amanda Clarke, who is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer, was shocked and emotional as Rob Wills on kmfm Drivetime phoned her to give her the news.

She said the money would make Christmas financially easier this year.

Amanda said: "I can't believe it – I've never won anything in my life and this has been an absolute rubbish year."

When asked why it had been particularly bad, she said: "I was diagnosed with breast cancer, so I'm undergoing treatment and money is a bit tight because I've had to take long-term sick from work.

"I'm literally going to cry. I'm so happy."

Fighting back the tears, Amanda added: "It just means that Christmas will be so much easier now.

"Thank you so much."

kmfm's Thousand Pound Friday competition sees listeners across Kent enter to win the jackpot that is delivered to them in person that night by the kmfm Street Team.
