Car set alight and jewellery taken in reported burglary at Bluewater Shopping Centre

A significant amount of jewellery is believed to have been stolen from a shop in Bluewater in an early hours raid.

Police were called at 2.20am to a report of a burglary at a business in the Greenhithe shopping centre.

It is believed that six people smashed their way into the Breitling store at the shopping centre and made off with jewellery.

A vehicle was also set alight and some internal doors were damaged.

A spokesperson from Bluewater said: "We can confirm a break in took place at a retailer at Bluewater early this morning, we are working closely with Kent Police who are dealing with the matter and handling any enquiries."

The Breitling branch at Bluewater have refused to comment on the matter as both Kent police and Bluewater have issued statements.
