Maidstone United finally won their first home game of the season on Saturday when they defeated Burgess Hill 2-0 in the FA Trophy first qualifying round.

After a goalless first 45, close-range strikes from Adrian Stone and Danny Hockton ended United's seven-match barren run at Homelands.

Shaun Welford scored his second hat-trick in consecutive Saturdays to help Margate to a 5-1 home win over Whitehawk.

Dean Grant and Jay Saunders gave the Gate a 2-0 half-time lead and then Welford took centre stage in the second half, striking three times to take his tally for the season to 10.

Folkestone Invicta overcame Worthing 4-2 at home despite playing the last 33 minutes with 10 men.

Invicta trailed 2-1 at the break after Frankie Chappell had given them an early lead, and they then wasted a great opportunity to equalise four minutes into the second half when Darren Smith's penalty was saved by Benedikt Moritz.

The situation looked even worse for Folkestone when Liam Dickson was sent off after 57 minutes, but they were awarded another penalty six minutes later and this time James Everitt found the target.

Everitt then restored Invicta's lead 14 minutes from time and substitute Simon Austin wrapped up their hard-earned passage in the dying stages.

Tonbridge Angels went through 3-2 at home to Concord Rangers.

They led 3-0 at one stage in the first half through goals by Frannie Collin (2) and Claude Seanla, but Concord pulled one back before the break and then scored a second four minutes from time to give Angels a few anxious moments.

Cray Wanderers staged a late comeback to beat Wingate & Finchley 2-1 at home.

Wingate took the lead on the stroke of half-time and Cray had to wait until five minutes from time before equalising through Arron Day. Then, in the last minute, Carl Gibbs was fouled in the box and Ross Lover lashed home the winner from the spot.

Faversham Town were edged out by non-league giants Kingstonian on Saturday.

In one of the biggest games in the history of the Lilywhites, the first half-passed goalless but two second-half penalties were enough to send the Ks through.

Matt Gray and Dean Lodge took turns to despatch spot-kicks past Rob French before Dane Luchford pulled one back for the hosts 15 minutes from time to set-up a tense finale.

Ramsgate will have to do it all over again at Southlands on Tuesday night after a goalless draw at Arlesey Town on Saturday.

The Bedfordshire side are currently 3rd in the Zamaretto Southern League Division 1 Central but were unable to break down the Rams, who had chances of their own towards the end.

Thamesmead Town booked their place in the second round after overcoming Great Wakering Rovers 2-1 in Essex on Saturday.

Andy Constable put the visitors ahead and Ashley Probets made it 2-0 and despite the Southend side pulling one back in the second half, they held on to progress.

Sittingbourne went third in Ryman League Division 1 South after a 2-1 win at Chatham Town.

Bourne's unbeaten run against their rivals extends back to Christmas 2003 and was secured after a flurry of three goals in little over four minutes.

Paul Semaluka converted a penalty to put the Brickies ahead on 53 minutes but Leroy Huggins smashed the hosts level two minutes later after latching onto a ball over the top.

Tom Bradbrook secured the points with a fine run and cool finish into the corner on 57 minutes.
