Remember remember most fireworks displays in Kent are taking place the weekend before Guy Fawkes Night. Here is a guide to some of the bonfire nights in the county.

Floating pontoons around the moat at Leeds Castle will be the launchpad for fireworks this weekend.

The display will be set to Halloween music, including Thriller, Ghostbusters and the theme from Scooby Doo. Taking place on Saturday and Sunday, November 3 and 4, the castle will also be lit up with a projection show on the wall. Families who come early can catch a children’s magic show in the afternoon. Tickets £18, children £10, under-fours free. Call 01622 880008.

Fire breathers will light the bonfire at Kent Life, before families can join in the countdown to the musical display. There will be face painting, water zorbing, fairground rides and glow sticks galore at the farming attraction near Maidstone on Saturday, November 3. Tickets £10, concessions £9, children £7.75. Call 01622 763936.

A funfair will keep children occupied until the fireworks light up the sky above the Hop Farm Family Park, near Paddock Wood. A child-friendly display begins at 6pm on both Saturday, November 3 and Sunday, November 4, with fewer loud bangs. There will be burgers and refreshments before the main displays, with a music of champions theme on Saturday and a best of British theme on Sunday. A bonfire will be lit on Sunday only. Admission £12.60, seniors £10.50, children £8.40, families £37.80. Call 01622 872068.

The renowned annual display by the Dawes Community Associations takes place at Mount Ephraim Gardens, Hernhill, once again. A bar, food and music help to make the night go with a bang. It takes place on Saturday, November 3. Admission £12 for an adult and up to three children. Call 07513 750145.

Get two fireworks bonanzas for the price of one at Quex Park, near Birchington. Their bonfire night – We Will Rocket You – begins with a traditional display and is followed 30 minutes later by a show lighting up the sky to the music of Queen. There will be a bonfire, bands, a beer tent and fairground rides. Takes place on Saturday, November 3. Tickets £10, children £8, families £34. Call 07969 058951.

See fireworks on and off the track at Brands Hatch, as the Delphi British Truck Racing Championship ends with a Guy Fawkes night display. The final round of the season will be a free-for-all, with both Division 1 and 2 titles settled across Saturday, November 3 and Sunday, November 4. Then on the eve of November 5, the South Bank opposite the start-finish straight will host a dazzling fireworks display. Race and fireworks admission £21, under-13s free. Call 0843 453 9000.

The booms and bangs above the Riverside Leisure Area in Gravesend – known as the Prom – have been choreographed to the songs of Queen. Stan Lee King’s Boogie Box Roadshow provide the musical backdrop and Smith’s Carnival Funfair will be open on Friday, November 2. Fireworks from 8pm. Admission free.

Up to 50,000 people are expected to turn up for the free display at the Great Lines Heritage Park in Gillingham. The bonfire will be lit at 7pm with fireworks from 7.30pm. Details on 01634 333333.
