Seven charged in drugs crackdown

A TEENAGE boy is among seven people charged with drugs offences after a police operation to tackle Bexley’s supply of Class A drugs.

Officers mounted a large-scale assault on nine addresses in Erith, arresting a dozen people and closing down a suspected “crack house” in Maynard Close.

Five men, a woman, and a 17-year-old boy were remanded in custody by Bexley magistrates and are due at Woolwich Crown Court on Friday.

Unemployed Charles Mogoh,19, of Azile Everitt House, Plumstead; Osmon Suleyman, 19, of Viking House, in Pett Street, Plumstead; Carl Hall, 24, of Maynard Close, Erith are charged with conspiracy to supply a Class A drug - crack cocaine.

Darren Dixon, 28, is charged with seven counts of supplying crack cocaine, six counts of supplying heroin and possessing Class C drugs.

The unemployed and homeless man is also charged with possessing a knife, eight counts of driving while disqualified and eight counts of having no insurance.

Unemployed Mark Downs, 41, and Sarah Kennedy, 31, both of Grange House, Erith, are each charged with five counts of supplying crack cocaine.

And the 17-year-old boy, from Greenwich, is charged with possessing drugs with intent to supply.

Five other people were released on bail pending further inquiries after being arrested on suspicion for possessing Class A drugs.

Specialist officers from the Met’s Territorial Support Group joined borough officers on the blitz – codenamed Operation Conqueror – on Wednesday, April 16.

The Maynard Close property was issued with a three-month Crack House Closure Order, enforced by Bexley magistrates the following day.

It is the first time Bexley police have issued such an order to close down a property suspected of being used for the supply, use or production of Class A drugs where there is also serious nuisance or disorder.

They were given the powers to do so under the Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003.
