Met Office issues severe weather warning for heavy rain in Kent

Kent is set to get a drenching tonight as forecasters warn heavy rain is expected to sweep the county.

The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for heavy downpours, which are expected to hit at 5pm and continue until 8am tomorrow.

Around 5 to 15mm of rain is expected to fall widely, with 40mm possible over high ground.

A spokesman said: "Be aware of the potential for further localised flooding and disruption to travel."
