KENT Police are appealing for witnesses after a 16-year-old boy was killed in a collision involving two cars in a Kent village.

The victim was a front seat passenger in one of the cars, a Vauxhall Corsa. The crash happened on the A26 at Wateringbury, near the junction with Pizien Well Road, shortly before 1pm on Sunday.

The boy who died came from Bearsted, near Maidstone. He has not yet been named. Police say he died at the scene.

Both drivers were taken to Maidstone Hospital by air ambulance but it is thought they suffered only superficial injuries.
