Two Ramsgate teenagers who carried out a rape in a public park have received custodial sentences.

The two pushed their victim to the ground before carrying out repeated assaults, Canterbury Crown Court heard.

Christopher Palmer, 19, of Nixon Avenue was sent to a young offenders' institute for eight years.

His co-accused - who was 15 at the time of the attack in April last year - can't be named for legal reasons.

He was given an eight-year custodial sentence, with a further two years on licence.

Judge Adele Williams said neither teenager had accepted they had done anything wrong.

A jury found them both guilty of rape at a trial last year.
