While millions of us sit down to watch the World Cup this evening, some people won't be quite so lucky.

From firefighters to kmfm DJs, hundreds of football fans across Kent will be cheering on the Three Lions from their place of work.

As England and Croatia go head-to-head in Moscow later tonight, let's spare a thought for those who won't be watching the spectacular semi-final live.

Tottenham fan Jason Hills, who is crew manager at Dartford Fire Station, will be at work during tonight's game.

The 35-year-old said: "Obviously for us, we’re at work on Christmas day, New Year’s Eve, and on our children's birthdays.

"We're quite used to having to work during popular events.

"We hope that everyone stays safe and enjoys the football, but we’re here if anyone does have problems."

If Jason wasn't at work this evening, he'd be watching the game with friends.

He said: "We’re able to watch the game here at the station when we’re given permission, but for the last game we were all out."

St Johns Ambulance first aider Callum Halls is going to be working at Rochester's Castle Concerts this evening.

The 19-year-old, from Longfield, is hoping things go well for Gareth Southgate and his players, but isn't too bothered about missing the game.

He said: "I do enjoy the football, and I'm really hopeful that England get through tonight as we've got this far.

"I'm a bit gutted to not be watching it live, but I'll be watching the highlights when I get home.

"I'll be looking after the concert goers as they enjoy Jools Holland and his band instead.

"That, for me, makes my evening just as enjoyable as watching the football."

kmfm's Garry Wilson will also be at Rochester Castle this evening, keeping the audience entertained and introducing acts.

He said: "I would only miss a game of this importance for someone who holds the role of Deputy Lieutenant of Kent.

"Jules Holland is known for his waistcoats, and it is waistcoat Wednesday after all."
