Tony Gilham embarks on the biggest challenge of his racing career this weekend when he lines up for the opening round of the British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch.

The Dartford-based racer (pictured) will be competing in the Triple Eight team’s Vauxhall Vectra against household names such as Jason Plato and Matt Neal for the season opener.

Gilham, who made a name for himself in the VW Cup Championship and the Porsche Carrera Cup, will be driving a distinctive green and pink liveried car on his home circuit.

Reigning champion Plato, however, will be the man expected to be taking honours over the weekend, while Kent-based Motorbase Performance will also be out for success with drivers Mat Jackson and Liam Griffin.
