CANTERBURY Christ Church University is backing the Thanet College bid to build a new £43million campus on land next to the university's Broadstairs Campus.

The relocation of Thanet College to a site on Millennium Way, Broadstairs, will enable both institutions to work more closely together.

Thanet College has started the planning process and already received outline planning permission from Thanet District Council. Detailed plans will be submitted to the council in the New Year.

Canterbury Christ Church University’s senior chancellor, Professor Jan Druker, said: "This is an exciting opportunity for both Canterbury Christ Church University and Thanet College."

The new campus will offer top class facilities including industrial catering kitchens, hair and beauty salons and a sports area.
